To see Golden Hills Country Club in Ocala is to experience the embodiment of the Castro family’s devotion to Ocala. Sharing their sense of quality with others resulted in the development of the Golden Hills Country Club that includes the Golf Courses, Pool Facilities, Gym, Banquet Hall, Wedding Venue, Restaurant and Bar creating Marion County’s first private club. 

Once deeded to its membership, the Club returned to the Castro family interests in 2002 through a partnership forged between Bernadette Castro and golf architect Rees Jones. In June 2012, Citrus Hills Golf & Country Club acquired and renamed it as  Ocala National Golf Club. The ownership changed in 2017. The Golden Hills Country is now revived to provide a Country Club environment. 

The Golf Course is operated as semi-private where it now welcomes members and the general public with the opportunity to experience this magnificent facility that for the past 50 years was accessible only to members of the Club. The stately colonial clubhouse has been rejuvenated to feature a fitness center, an enhanced Olympic-sized swimming pool, a state-of-the-art golf shop, the elegant Belmont Ballroom that seats 200 guests, as well as smaller, private dining areas throughout the gracious building.
